Physical Therapy

What is pediatric physical therapy?

A pediatric physical therapist is trained to evaluate various motor deficits and develop a plan of care with goals that will help to address the deficits that are documented.  We are trained to address deficits in strength, coordination, balance, and range of motion. We can also assist in the acquisition of motor skills and developmental milestones.  We also address the needs of our clients by helping with the selection of orthotics, bracing and equipment when needed.

What are some of the deficits that we address?

We have experience treating children with diagnoses such as developmental delay, idiopathic toe-walking, orthopedic injuries, hypo/hypertonia, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, congenital muscular torticollis, brachial plexus injury, traumatic brain injury, HIE, and other various genetic diagnoses.

What do our treatment sessions look like?

At Magnolia Kid's Therapy, we believe that a child has only one job and that is to PLAY!  We use play-based therapy sessions to encourage movement and appropriate gross motor development. All of our sessions are one-on-one, so you get the full attention of your therapist for your entire session. We also enjoy getting parents involved during the sessions to make sure that you understand ways that you can be involved at home to help your child reach his or her goals.
